The year was 1982...and I was with a few friends over a DJ's house when he was previewing new music. He pulled out the Debarge record, "I Like It" and we were all in El's trance. We wondered like everyone else...is that Switch? Nope...after looking on the back-cover of the album. It was Bobby and Tommy DeBarge's younger siblings. We listened over and over again until we all knew the words and could sing along. Not noticing the time...it was two hours later and past my curfew. Needless to say, the week on punishment was well worth it. I sang, "I Like It," ...
Feel Good: Are You a Bionic Woman?
Remember the 70's TV show The Bionic Woman? I use to love that show. Watching a smart, savvy and strong woman take on the bad guys and win was awesome. I had all the toys; the doll, her blow up house (that took all Christmas Morning to inflate), her bionic station, the outfits....EVERYTHING. I wanted to be the bionic woman. Yet, I was only a little girl that hadn't experienced tough life occurrences. I only saw the end product. The bionic woman kicking butt and taking names. But who was Jamie Summers before her bionic prowess? How did she get ...

2. Bright Colored Swimsuit- dress all your children ...
Cooking with your kids can be frustrating. They spill; they splatter; they smear. Plus, there are knives and hot pans and things that they need to learn not to touch and to stay away from. It can definitely be more stressful than it is fun.
However, I believe that allowing your children into the kitchen area is important. I’ve already shared several reasons why I think getting them involved is important, but now let me tell you *how* to get them involved so you aren’t losing your sanity in the process.

I’m ready to jump in and start baking Gingerbread Men for my little one. After researching recipes and their online comments. Some of the comments left on recipe sites are brutal, but I love the honesty. This saves us from using a recipe that doesn’t cut it. I’m figuring…you can’t go wrong with Paula Dean. This is her recipe for Gingerbread Boys and Girls found on the Food Network website. From reading the comments many say not to use as much floor. So I’m only using 2 3/4 cups instead. I’ll let you know how ours turn out. Before you get started check out 10 Tips for making Gingerbread. Happy baking!
Every year my Herb-Roasted turkey is a hit with family and friends. I saw this method while watching the Food Network over a friends house a few days before Thanksgiving one year. Now, both of us make our turkey’s the same every year. We call each other to remind the other of certain herbs or how we have added our own spin on it.
This is the basic recipe I’ve found to share with you. Your turkey will come out full of favor and moist.
I don’t know why…but I’m on this cranberry kick. For the past few months I’ve been cooking with dried cranberries and my family loves it. One of our favorite restaurants, The Village Grill near Fort Lauderdale has this wonderful salad. It’s a mixture of greens, dried cranberries, granny smith apples and Gorgonzola cheese. It’s simply delicious. Every since I’ve tried it I’ve been hooked. Now that we are in the holiday season I wanted to prepare a dish with cranberries. As I was flipping through a magazine, the name escapes me, I saw this picture of green beans, cranberries and almonds. What a dazzling combination! I found a this recipe online which I’m going to try with my family. Spicy up your green beans for Thanksgiving Working Diva Style. ENJOY!
