Feel Good: Are You a Bionic Woman?
Remember the 70's TV show The Bionic Woman? I use to love that show. Watching a smart, savvy and strong woman take on the bad guys and win was awesome. I had all the toys; the doll, her blow up house (that took all Christmas Morning to inflate), her bionic station, the outfits....EVERYTHING. I wanted to be the bionic woman. Yet, I was only a little girl that hadn't experienced tough life occurrences. I only saw the end product. The bionic woman kicking butt and taking names. But who was Jamie Summers before her bionic prowess? How did she get ...

Before taking on the friendly skies, there is work to be done Working Divas. Be “Plane Pretty” with these techniques. Look like you just rose out of bed instead of the red eye flight. Traveling can wreak havoc on many things: your sanity, your sleep schedule and your workout are just a few. But, for us, the most pressing problem is our skin and makeup.
Airplanes present special beauty conundrums found no place else on earth: Averaging 20% humidity, cabin air is dryer than the Shara Desert, and acts like a moisture-sucking vacuum cleaner on the skin, leaching precious skin-plumping moisture faster than you can say “wrinkle.”
There’s also the fact that we’re only allowed to bring 3 oz bottles of most skincare products aboard planes, and many of us and too fickle — and too lazy — to deal with transferring our pricey skin creams to clunky travel bottles.

Have a glam look all night during your next girls night out or quality time with your bo! It sucks to spend hours primping for a party only to have your hair fall flat and your makeup fade way before last call. Follow these beauty tricks to ensure that you look gorgeous until sunrise. Bonus: When you really want to pull out all the stop, choose a hairstyle that’ll help you get what you want.
1) Start with Healthy, Hydrated Skin

Just as the summer heats up, fall fashions begin their trickle onto retailers’ shelves. But instead of buying the season’s trendy leather motorcycle jackets (so chic!) or designer acid wash denim (rockin’!), many women are getting a start on fall with practical pieces for the office. Why now?
With the joblessness rate at 9.5%, a 26-year high, a share of that percentage are women who are either not working or hoping they don’t end up on the “redundancy list.”

Ladies before you head to the mirror and pull out your make-up bag to glam up….read this article from the New York Times about the alleged toxic lead in lipstick.
This lipstick/lead debate seems to resurface every few years. Do some lipsticks contain lead? If so, is the amount so negligible that consumers have nothing to be concerned about? Or will all those years of applying lipstick several times a day add up to a worrisome accumulation of a dangerous substance?
In February, the debate reared its head again when the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a coalition of health and environmental groups, issued a plea to the F.D.A. to release information the agency had accumulated on the amount of lead in lipstick. The study was conducted in response to an independent analysis in 2007, paid for by the safe cosmetics group, which found that one-third of 33 lipsticks had lead in excess of 0.1 parts per million, the federal limit for candy.
Among the worst offenders were L’Oreal Colour Riche “True Red” lipstick (with a lead content of 0.65 parts per million) and Cover Girl’s Incredifull Lipcolor “Maximum Red” (0.56 p.p.m.). Price had nothing to do with lead levels: less expensive brands, like a $1.99 tube of Wet and Wild Mega Colors “Cherry Blossom,” contained no lead, whereas a $24 tube of Dior Addict “Positive Red” contained 0.21 p.p.m.
Can you believe it….read more at The New York Times.

We all know the recession is hitting us pretty hard and that does not exclude us ladies who are used to hitting up the salon to get our relaxers and touch ups every 4 to 6 weeks. Nowadays, those trips to get our “hair did” can add up so if have been considering going the DIY route, here are some tips to get you through!
Before I get into the tips, let me just give a little hair info about myself. I have been relaxing my own hair at home for about 3 to 4 years now. I had a bad experience at a salon and just decided that if I wanted it done right, I would at least try to do myself!
So, without further a-due, here we go!
Read! – please, please, please, read all the instructions that come with the relaxer kit you purchased.
Get Greased Up! – make sure that scalp is protected by greasing it first ( I like Bergamont or Blue Magic). This will help protect it through the harsh relaxing process. It will also give you practice parting your hair and finding your scalp even when you can’t see it.

It’s Summertime and the livin’ is easy. But wearing white…not so much. White is classy and elegant when you know how to complement it with the right accessories make your outfit fierce. Check out these tips from Glamour.com’s Suze Yalof Schwarts on how to wear white…right…this summer.
Stay Away From the White-Out Look
Nothing looks chicer than a white pencil skirt for work, and pairing it with a crisp, white top can look even better. The one thing you’ll want to change up though, is your accessories. Stay away from adding more white, as you may end up looking like a nurse-like cartoon character. Instead, try a neutral belt and heels, adding a pop of color with a bright bag. Gold jewelry and tortoise-shell glasses tie it all together, giving you a clean, summer, work look.
